About Us

Brisbane, Australia, is a place where the sun shines and the skies are big, bright and blue. We love the outdoors. Our kids play cricket in summer, rugby, soccer and netball in winter and swim all year round.

Brisbane is a place where kids play sport during their lunch breaks at school and on Saturdays. Sundays might begin with a hike up Mount Coot-Tha searching for koalas and end with a barbeque with friends, a competitive game of backyard cricket and an icy pole.

Brisbane is also located in the State of Queensland, known as the skin cancer capital of the world. Cousins Kirsten and Caitlin wanted to create a product to help to protect our kids' skin while they played outdoors and Big Bright Blue was born. Kirsten and Caitlin’s Nana, Bridget (or Birdie), also had big, bright blue eyes so the name binds us both because of where we live and in our love for Nana.

Kirsten has two young children who love sport and Caitlin has a career in allied health with a passion for health and wellbeing.

Big Bright Blue is about sustainable products that enable our kids to play outdoors, under our big, bright, blue skies while protecting their skin from potential harm. It is also about investing in a brighter future for our kids and their wellbeing through material contributions to our communities, especially to schools and charities.
